The pandemic has affected our Prek Toal floating village in many ways. The biggest daily problem that our villagers face is not having enough food to eat.

Our PTMA team decided to do something practical and try to take food to the neediest villagers to help them. The journey to the village from Siem Reap was difficult and long. Low water levels gave us many problems but we did not let them stop us.

We received some very valuable donations from our friends overseas and we were able to buy enough food for 35 families. Our goal is to help 500 families, but we must go step by step. We are already trying to raise money to buy food for the next group of families.

We made up food parcels for each family. We gave each of the families 10kg of rice, 1 packet of instant noodles, 1 bag of canned fish and 1 box of masks. The 35 families left with their food and we were very happy to know that the children and parents in each family would eat well for several days.

We are now aiming to provide food for the next 50 families, at a cost of US$22 per family so we hope to raise that money in the next few weeks.

With USD22 donation will be greatly appreciated by us to keep on bringing food to the hungry families in the village during this pandemic.
